Amazon Launches AI Assistant to Support Sellers Effectively

Amazon is developing an AI assistant designed to support its sellers. In the initial phase, the company has introduced this AI assistant to sellers in the United States to help them grow their businesses. Codenamed “Project Amelia,” the assistant is built on AWS’s Amazon Bedrock platform. Currently in beta, this feature is expected to be rolled out to other countries and languages later this year.

According to Amazon, the new AI assistant allows sellers to ask questions regarding their business metrics and instantly analyze performance. For instance, sellers can inquire, “How is my business doing?” and the assistant will provide detailed analytics and reports on sales data, customer traffic, and product sales.

This update is part of Amazon’s broader effort to enhance seller experience and drive business growth.

It has been stated that the goal of Project Amelia is to make it easier for sellers to manage their workload and save time. In the future, the AI assistant will not only provide information but also offer options to solve problems and manage tasks on behalf of sellers. For example, if a seller asks, “There are 300 items on the way, but they’re not showing up—can they be checked?” the AI will provide relevant suggestions to address the issue.

Amazon says the new assistant is designed to reduce the time and effort sellers spend managing their business. The company has previously introduced generative AI tools to assist sellers in creating product listings.

Project Amelia is still in beta, and no official release date for the full version has been announced.
